A rich red sunrise bathed the park in a warm late summers glow and as the mist clung stickily to the ground, Deer wandered calmly about in the lowland with a faded body lines blanketed by the thick vapor.

Its day two, and the atmosphere lakeside is different in every way. You could read the commitment etched into each competitors face, feel the tension in the air as each contender shook off the early chill in readiness for the beginning of the main event, the Olympic race.
